One Year Ago Today!

One year ago today Tyler came home from his mission. He served in Micronesia Guam. A little tiny island in between Hawaii and the Philippines. As most of you know I wrote and waited for Tyler the whole time he was gone. I am going to tell you our story. We met right after he graduated from high school. He was 18 and I was 17 and a senior in high school. We dated right until the day he left on his mission. Seriously! We said our good byes about a half hour before he got set apart to be a missionary. Well, the day that Tyler came home. I was driving home from Las Vegas for Andreas wedding. That car ride about killed me. Tyler was in Utah and I wasn't! It was the worst car ride for everyone who was with me. (Sorry) I was dying to get home. We finally did and we had our first date that night. We went to Brick Oven and then to the mall to buy him some new clothes. Before that I went to go pick him up because of course he didn't have a car. So I get to his house and knock on the door and before I can even say hi or even look at Tylers face he is already giving me a big wet one right on the lips! Then I get a hug and then a "Hi! How are you?" Well, from then on we pretty much knew we were getting married. We both knew it in our minds that we were but didn't actually talk about getting married until a week later. (Which was my birthday) We were engaged about a month later and married three months later! What can I say. When you know you know. I can happily say we have been married for 8 months a counting now. I wouldn't want it any other way. (Love you Tyler)

~We have had many adventures since we have been married. We when on a cruise for our honeymoon to Cali and Mexico, three days after we got home we moved to New York for the summer. Drove all the way there and back. We went to Palmyra, Washington DC, and Navuoo. Moved to springville in Aug and opened a Martial Arts studio in spanish fork.

Homemaking Skills

My friend Heather had a baby shower this past weekend. I wanted to practice up on my homemaking, and sewing skills. So this is was I made. The flowered fabric is actually a baby sling that I sewed for her. It turned out really cute. (With a little help from my grandma ;) and yes I did knit the baby hats too. It was my first time and they actually turned out really good. I bought some felt butter files and just added buttons and stuck them to the hat. So if anybody wants to me to make them a baby sling. I'd be more than willing. :)

So I don't know if any of you are fans of So You Think You Can Dance, but I am and if you watched it last season you will know who I am talking about. Well Matt Dorame was in Thriller and he was SO amazing. We even got a picture with him. I was so exceited. Also when we were down there we got to see our friends. Jaque, Nate, and Jaxson. (It was so fun to see you guys. I wish you lived closer) We had lots of fun while we were down there.

Father's Day, 4th of July & Family

Well, it has been a while since I posted something. Things are going good out here in New York. We have been able to experience a lot of new things. On Father's Day we drove to the Scared Grove and we were able to see the first place where the Book of Mormon was published, Hill Cumorah, and also the Smith family farm. It is about a 5 hour drive one way, but we are going to take advantage of all we can see while we are out here. We are planning on going to Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Boston Before we leave home for Utah. Plus on our way home we are going to try and stop and see the other church sites on the way.
On the 4th of July Tyler only had to work a half a day. Which was SO nice for him to have a break. Instead of watching some fireworks we decided to go and see Phantom of the Opera. It was so fun and Tyler really wanted to go see it. We were able to go walk around the city before it started to.
My mom and sisters came to visit us about a week ago. We had so much fun. We went to the Wax Museum. That's were we met Will Smith. ;) We got to see lots of celebrities there, like Robin Williams, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, J LO, and so many others. We were able to go to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. We learned a lot of interesting things there. It was very entertaing. With my mom and sisters we went and saw the Little Mermaid on Broadway. It was so good. There was a variety of dancing in it. Tyler got to take a full day of work off to come a play with us. We went to the top of the Empire State Building, attempted to go to the Statue of Liberty Island but we got there too late. We also got to see Wicked! It was amazing and well worth the money to see it. And we got to celebrate Kalli's 15th Birthday! (My little sis is growing up) In central park with a picnic. We also got a lot of entertaining too. Just watch the video closely you might see a guy in a speedo. We got to see alot of dancing in the streets and did our bargain shopping on canal st. I am glad they came to visit and we can't wait for Kris and Mal to come.

We have been able to go to the temple while we are here. We have to leave aroung 5am to make it to the 630am session. It makes for a long day, but so worth it.

Some of the wives that are all in the same boat as me. That is me and Christi at a Yankees game.

Cali, Mexico, and New York!

We went to the movies in times square after tyler got off work. Tyler got to eat his first NY hotdog from a vendor. Oh they were so good!

(Sorry the pictures are not in order.) This was Memorial Day Weekend in Times Square and Central Park. It was Tyler's first trip into the city.

This was on Catalina Island on our cruise. We found these giant flowers growing on the fence. We actually snuck it home.

The bus ride to get on the ship.

This was our room. It was nice but small. They cleaned it like three times a day and always left towel animals. (I am not sure what this one is though.)

This one is my favorite picture. We just got off the little boats that take us to the island.

Our cruise ship.

Everything seemed miniature on Catalina. Most people drove around golf carts.

We wanted to rent a golf cart to tour around the island, but you have to be 25 so we got stuck with the tandem bike. It was pretty fun trying to peddle together.

We rode the bike to the beach and then it made us really tired. If you can't tell.

The beautiful view from our room.

I think this one is a pig.

MEXICO! This was the first little shop we came to once we got off the ship.

We were waiting for our tour bus to come. It was really kind of cold that day.

On our tour through Mexico we got to watch come dancing and a mariachi band play. They fed us to but it really wasn't that good.

This is the Ranch we stopped at to eat and watch the dancing.

We went stopping in Mexico too. If you have ever been to canal street in NY this place was twice as bad.

We bought us a mini version of this calendar.

These guys were made out of paper.

We found this furniture store in Mexico. It was so cool. Every thing was like extra large.

This bath tub was so tall. It doesn't look very tall but it was.

This was in the store also. He looks like a painting.

I can't remember what this building was, or what is was used for.

It had all of these statues every where though.

They sold these Nacho Lebre masks every where in Mexico. I guess it really is a sport down there.

This was the last day of our cruise. We had to wait forever to get off the ship.

This was the main area of our ship.

ON OUR WAY TO NEW YORK!

Starting our road trip to the east coast early. I was really tired.

These were some creepy wind mills they have in Wyoming. They just had rows and rows of them.
There wasn't much to look at on our drive till we got out of Nebraska.

These were some really bad storms we were driving into when we were going across Nebraska.

You can see the bug guts on our window. I was really scared. When We got to our hotel they started having tornado warnings.

Our Long car ride across the country.

We finaly made in to NY in 3 days. We had a date night and went to the movies. We went and saw Iron Man. I really liked it. I was walking home from the store and saw this skunk! It was like a block away from our building complex.

Cleaning up dinner in our cute apartment.

We have a really fancy mall by our apartments and it has the cheesecake factory in it!The first week or two that we were here our bathroom flooded like 2 inches of water! It was really kinda funny because water was spraying every where.

Tyler fixing the flood :) after he got home from work. On one of our many trips into the city with the wives we saw these break dancers. This little boy was so good! He had a red punch mustache and his front teeth were missing.

Playing in Central Park. It was a really nice day. In Central Park on Memorial Day Weekend. There were a TON of people!

We took a Sunday drive to Central Park and just hung out all day.Christi and I waiting for the bus to take us over the George Washington Bridge. She was trying to see how many birds she could feed. This is the George Washington Bridge. We live right by it and cross it every time we go into New York. This was like 3 in the morning coming home from the movies. It was a long day.

Ty and I went into the city one night and i got really bad blisters on my feet. You can see them on both sides too. It was really gross.
