Yummy food!!!!

I made this the other night for dinner and it is SO yummy! I marinated the chicken over night and didn't put any tomatoes in it but it still tasted so good.

Foil-Pack Chicken & Artichoke Dinner

Prep Time:
10 min
Total Time:
50 min
Makes:
6 servings, one packet each
What You Need
3 cups instant white rice, uncooked
3 cups warm water
6 small boneless skinless chicken breast halves (1-1/2 lb.), 1/2 inch thick
1 can (13-3/4 oz.) artichoke hearts, drained, quartered
2 cups chopped tomatoes (about 2 large)
1/2 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
1/4 cup pesto
Make It
PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Mix rice and water; spoon evenly onto center of each of six large sheets of heavy-duty foil. Top each with 1 chicken breast. Cover evenly with the artichokes and tomatoes, then drizzle evenly with the combined dressing and pesto.
BRING up foil sides. Double fold top and both ends to seal each packet, leaving room for heat circulation inside. Place packets in single layer in 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
BAKE 30 to 35 min. or until chicken is cooked through (170°F). Remove packets from oven; let stand 5 min. Place one packet on each of six dinner plates. Cut slits in foil with sharp knife to release steam before opening.

Tyler helped me to re-finish these chairs. I was a little worried about how they were going to turn out but I think they turned out pretty cute!
Before....
After....
These flowers were growing in our front yard. They were all yellow except for one red petal. I thought they were so pretty and I have never seen a flower like that before.

Today we celebrate!

Today we celebrate! Another one year mark. One year ago today Tyler asked me to marry him. I was SO surprised and and no idea. He surprised me with the ring too. He picked it out himself. (I think his mom helped too) We went on a date to Olive Garden and then went to go see the Jordan River Temple. I had never been there and thought that I might want to get married there, but I chose Salt Lake of course.
(This was taken before he asked me. I had no idea he was going to ask me that night. As you can tell by the look on his face that something was going on.)

One Year Ago Today!

One year ago today Tyler came home from his mission. He served in Micronesia Guam. A little tiny island in between Hawaii and the Philippines. As most of you know I wrote and waited for Tyler the whole time he was gone. I am going to tell you our story. We met right after he graduated from high school. He was 18 and I was 17 and a senior in high school. We dated right until the day he left on his mission. Seriously! We said our good byes about a half hour before he got set apart to be a missionary. Well, the day that Tyler came home. I was driving home from Las Vegas for Andreas wedding. That car ride about killed me. Tyler was in Utah and I wasn't! It was the worst car ride for everyone who was with me. (Sorry) I was dying to get home. We finally did and we had our first date that night. We went to Brick Oven and then to the mall to buy him some new clothes. Before that I went to go pick him up because of course he didn't have a car. So I get to his house and knock on the door and before I can even say hi or even look at Tylers face he is already giving me a big wet one right on the lips! Then I get a hug and then a "Hi! How are you?" Well, from then on we pretty much knew we were getting married. We both knew it in our minds that we were but didn't actually talk about getting married until a week later. (Which was my birthday) We were engaged about a month later and married three months later! What can I say. When you know you know. I can happily say we have been married for 8 months a counting now. I wouldn't want it any other way. (Love you Tyler)

~We have had many adventures since we have been married. We when on a cruise for our honeymoon to Cali and Mexico, three days after we got home we moved to New York for the summer. Drove all the way there and back. We went to Palmyra, Washington DC, and Navuoo. Moved to springville in Aug and opened a Martial Arts studio in spanish fork.

Homemaking Skills

My friend Heather had a baby shower this past weekend. I wanted to practice up on my homemaking, and sewing skills. So this is was I made. The flowered fabric is actually a baby sling that I sewed for her. It turned out really cute. (With a little help from my grandma ;) and yes I did knit the baby hats too. It was my first time and they actually turned out really good. I bought some felt butter files and just added buttons and stuck them to the hat. So if anybody wants to me to make them a baby sling. I'd be more than willing. :)

I'M BACK!

Wow it has been a while. life has been crazy busy since we have been home from New York. Things are slowing down now so I am going to try and get back into the blogging world. Well since we have been home Tyler and I both started school and working again. We opened a Martial Arts Studio down on main street in SF. We are helping run it with his family. Tyler does a lot of teaching down there and I also teach preschool. Which I LOVE! We just got called to teach primary too! Yay! So things are going well with the Kelly's. I will try to be more faithful with posting new things and pictures too!
